Foundation House in Neversdorf

The foundation's decision to relocate to Neversdorf is to be seen as a programmatic quotation. Its move from the metropolis of Hamburg to the natural idyll of the lush garden in Neversdorf echoes nothing less than the original scene of the occidental history of education itself – Plato's invention of the academy in the legendary grove of Academus (387 BC). Just as this first academy was not located in Athens itself but rather within walking distance beyond the city gates, the Udo Keller Foundation also hopes to bring inspiration through this relocation. The exceptional triad of sky, park, and lake, created by the remoteness of Neversdorf will invite and inspire the future guests of Neversdorf's 'Forum Humanum' and provide a special and extraordinary experience.
