Summerschool "Religious Leadership"

31. Juli bis 11. August 2016 in Jerusalem

25 Studierende aus zehn Ländern kamen am Elijah Interfaith Institute in Jerusalem zu einer zweiwöchigen Summer School zum Thema "Interreligious Leadership" zusammen, die vom Institutsdirektor Rabbi Prof. Dr. Alon Goshen-Gottstein geleitet und in Kooperation mit der Akademie der Weltreligionen durchgeführt wurde. Durch die Förderung der Udo Keller Stiftung Forum Humanum konnten sieben Masterstudierende des Studiengangs "Religionen, Dialog und Bildung" daran teilnehmen.

What is the understanding of friendship in diverse religions, Abrahamic and Dharmic (Hinduism, Buddhism, etc.)? What are different dimensions of friendship and why are they important for the religious life? Is friendship necessary, perhaps indispensable, for the religious life?
Can friendship be applied to members of other faiths? Can friendship teachings that were developed initially in relation to members of one’s faith be extended to members of other faiths? What are models, examples and resources that each of the religions offers for developing a contemporary notion of friendship across religions?
